As a Mechanical Engineer, your passion for mechanical systems and love for hands-on work will be crucial. You have a passion for understanding how mechanical equipment works.
Your Task:
One of the most critical production steps in the production process is a PECVD process. In this process an RF induced plasma is used under low pressure to grow the required layer. As a Mechanical Engineer Vacuum production tools you will take the responsibility for the low pressure control of the tools. You will work closely with the development team designing/making future PECVD machines as well as identifying and correcting issues with current tools already in production.
The responsibilities of this role start with simulations of the tools in order to ensure the quality of the concept design, continue with guiding the (detailed) design of the tools. Finally, you will be guiding the assembly of the components on-site, preparing a test plan (potentially with the supplier), and executing those tests. This includes commissioning of the mechanical parts of the machine
You combine both the ability to work closely with our external suppliers of PECVD tools as well as with our internal customers looking into the production process conditions.
We are ideally looking for candidates who will not only be keen to use their theoretical and design background, but also is not afraid to work hands on if required.
Our ideal candidate has 3- 5 years of experience and:
- MSc (or PhD) in Engineering in with extensive Vacuums engineering experience by both study as well as application of Vacuum engineering in an industrial setting.
- Affinity or experience with PECVD or APCVD or roll to roll processes is considered a big plus
- A hands- on approach as evident from previous work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken). Dutch is a plus.
- Experience with automation and process control is an advantage.
- Experience with writing engineering documents
What We Offer:
- A full-time position (40 hours per week).
- Competitive salary depending on experience.
- 27 holidays and 13 scheduled paid days off per year.

About HyET Solar:
Based in Arnhem, HyET Solar is at the forefront of developing flexible, lightweight solar modules. We are scaling up from pilot to commercial production, with diverse applications in modern, uniquely shaped roofs, facades, and other construction-limited environments such as airports, shopping malls, and distribution centre’s. Our facility is equipped with 20 advanced machines at various stages of development. Handling processes such as gas deposition, lamination and drying. We have an international team of around 70 passionate colleagues and contribute to the energy transition by making innovative roll-to-roll processed solar foils.
We are constantly looking to make major updates to our current machine line and are on the verge of starting to design the next generation machines for our most complex processes.
